The book I got on becoming a Power Seller on ebay says having one of these is a good idea. Personally, I think my product should stand on its own, but I’m not going to miss any opportunity to increase sales.
Well, I was born in Massachusetts, in the Land of Wall-to-Wall people. I’ve spent far, far, far too much time in various educational institutions (anyone who goes to grad school should be institutionalized!) and have degrees in Anthropology and Archaeology. If you want any dead people dug up, just contact me!
I like Valleys. I’ve seen the Grand Canyon, the Great Rift Valley, and the Valley of Desolation (South Africa, and not all that desolate.)
I’ve done archaeology. Not enough of it, but I like to pay bills and eat.
That’s me above. The picture was taken on the eastern bank of the Susquehana River in Pennsylvania, where a bridge right of way was being excavated as part of an environmental impact statement. I am the one in front on the right with the beer bottle raised. The beer bottle was, alas, not mine. I was into Coke and Dr. Pepper at the time, but one had to get into the spirit. I also had more hair and my beard had color. The colors in the photo are slightly off. My beard was red. I have, generally, expunged the memories of this period from my life as much as possible. If, however, you recognize yourself in the photo, please drop me a line and I’ll put your name down.
I also speak Spanish, German, and Russian, and have studied Chinese and Japanese (The 2007 World Science Fiction Convention will be held in Yokahama, just south of Tokyo!). Oh, and French. Before I switched to Anthropology at UMASS Boston I was a Russian major, I’ve translated Russian SF into English and you will find one of those books already available on line here,
For details on Kir Bulychev, his fiction and biography, go to the Kir Bulychev page on this website, and drop by the “Kosmos SF” page where his articles from Locus have been reprinted, along with other articles of interest.
At the moment we are preparing more Bulychev books -- Alice and the Rusty Field Marshall, as well as more books by Charles Watts Whistler, including his Prince Horn. In Russian SF and Fantasy, I am busy translating Henri Lion Oldi’s The Way Of The Sword something I promised the authors would be done over two years ago!
The next book Capricorn Publishing will bring out will be:
in its first complege book publication, the most famous, and most defamed, Australian Science Fiction novel of the 20th century. Visit our Erle Cox page for more information, and buy the book when it comes out!
